Disney Lorcana Sets in Order

June 19, 2026

Disney Lorcana grows one set at a time, and new collectors often ask the same thing: which set came first, and do I need to collect them in order? This guide explains how sets are structured, lists the release order, and shows how to keep track across all of them.

How sets work

A set is a batch of cards released together under one name and theme. Lorcana ships a new set roughly every quarter, each adding a couple of hundred cards. Every card belongs to exactly one set, so sets are the natural unit for organizing and completing a collection.

Reading set codes and numbers

Two markings tell you where a card lives:

  • The set code — a short abbreviation for the set (e.g. TFC for The First Chapter).
  • The collector number — like 10/204, meaning card 10 of 204 in that set. The second number is the set's total, so it's also your completion target.

Once you can read those, any loose card tells you which set it belongs to and how close you are to finishing it.

Release order

Lorcana's foundational sets, oldest first, are:

  1. The First Chapter — the launch set.
  2. Rise of the Floodborn
  3. Into the Inklands
  4. Ursula's Return
  5. Shimmering Skies
  6. Azurite Sea

New sets keep arriving after these. Rather than print a list that goes stale, the catalog stays current automatically — see the full, up-to-date set list in release order on the sets page, where each set shows its code, release date and card count.

Do you need to collect in order?

No. Sets are self-contained, so you can start anywhere — most people begin with the newest set (easiest to buy sealed) or whichever theme they like. Release order matters mainly for two things: understanding the catalog's history, and deciding which older sets are worth chasing as singles since they're no longer on shelves.

Tracking completion across sets

The real challenge isn't one set — it's keeping the whole picture straight as sets pile up. For each set you'll want to know what you own, what's missing, and which rares are left. A tracker shows your completion percentage per set so you always know where to focus next. Pair it with a wishlist and trade list to fill the gaps in older sets.

Next steps

  1. Browse every set and pick one to focus on.
  2. Learn the rarities so you know which slots will be hardest.
  3. Start tracking so each set's progress is one glance away.
