Where to Buy Disney Lorcana (and Are the Cards Worth Anything?)
June 24, 2026
Ready to start (or grow) a Disney Lorcana collection but not sure where to buy — or what's actually worth money? Here's a practical rundown of where to shop, what to buy for your goal, and how to read a card's value before you spend.
Where to buy
- Local game stores (LGS) — the best starting point. You get sealed product, often singles in a case, league nights, and people to trade with. Supporting your LGS also keeps a trade community alive near you.
- Big retailers — major bookstores, big-box and toy stores stock sealed Lorcana (packs, boxes, starter decks), usually at MSRP when in stock.
- Online marketplaces — the go-to for singles and out-of-print sets. This is where you buy the specific cards you're missing rather than gambling on packs.
What to buy for your goal
- Booster packs — fun to open, but the least efficient way to get specific cards. Best for the thrill, not the chase.
- Booster boxes — better value per pack and a fun "rip", but still random.
- Starter decks — a cheap, ready-to-play on-ramp if you also want to play.
- Singles — by far the most efficient route to specific cards. Want that one Legendary or Enchanted? Buy it directly instead of opening cases hoping for it.
Rule of thumb: open packs for fun, buy singles to complete.
Are the cards worth anything?
Most cards are worth very little — Commons and Uncommons are cheap and plentiful. Value concentrates at the top. What drives a card's price:
- Rarity — Rares, Super Rares and especially Legendaries cost more (see the rarities guide).
- Enchanted — the ultra-rare alternate-art chase cards command the highest prices by far.
- Foil — the foil version of a card is scarcer and usually worth more than the normal copy.
- Condition — near-mint cards are worth a premium; wear drops value fast (which is why storage matters).
- Demand — popular characters and competitively-played cards hold value better.
Don't overpay
Before buying anything pricey, check recent sold prices (not just asking prices) on a marketplace. Lorcana values move with new sets and reprints, so a card's "going rate" today may differ from a few months ago — especially for out-of-print sets.
Track what you own so you don't double-buy
The fastest way to waste money is buying a card you already have, or missing a good deal because you weren't sure what you needed. Log your collection, build a wishlist of what's missing, and check it while you shop. Foilfolio does exactly this — free, with normal/foil tracked separately.
Next steps
- New to it all? Start with how to start collecting Disney Lorcana.
- Browse the sets to decide what to chase, and note what you already own.
- Build a wishlist before you shop — every purchase then has a purpose.
Buy packs for the fun, buy singles to finish, and always check the going rate first. A tracked collection turns "I think I need this?" into a confident yes or no at the counter.
